Vandana Singh

Biography

I am an Indian SF writer and a physicist by background (theoretical particle physics). I teach at a small state university near Boston. I was born and raised in India and my interests (apart from science fiction and physics) include complex systems, climate change, environmental sustainability, biomimicry-based engineering and design, and world cultures.

Previous Works

Several short stories in various anthologies, including many Best of Year volumes. Two children’s books. An award winning novella from Aqueduct Press. All these can be found on my website (under construction).

Story Ideas and Burning Questions

How can we ward off extreme (irreversible) climate change? Not only through technology but through a re-visioning of human society… What kinds of life could be present on earth and in the universe that we don’t yet recognize as life? What are the laws of physics — static statements of truth, or evolving in time, assuming we understand time?
