Ian Miller

Biography

Born (1942) in Hokitika, New Zealand, BSc (Hons1), PhD University of Canterbury. Joined Chemistry Division, DSIR (the then NZ national laboratory) then in 1986, formed my own private research company. Currently semiretired, and self-publishing scientific and science fiction ebooks.

Previous Works

Main research projects have been on seaweed polysaccharides and biofuels by hydrothermal liquefaction. I have also been involved with chemical theory, usually questioning established theory. There are 100 peer reviewed scientific papers, about 40 other articles, four scientific ebooks and nine science fiction ebooks

Best known for

Depends on who is asked, but from my point of view, my alternative theories of quantum mechanics and planetary formation, my standard work on hydrothermal liquefaction and seaweed polysaccharides, and hopefully now for my ebooks.

My fiction involves the futuristic development of our society, particularly with respect to governance as we have to overcome a number of problems, such as resource shortages, global warming, etc.
