I think the future of renewal energy depends on the location in reference.

Like in the temperate regions where the temperature is high, Solar is preferred but looking at the colder regions like Scotland, I think we have to consider Geothermal energy as a support for the wind farms which has dominated the renewal energy source for the UK.
