Biographical information
Name | Steven Black |
Biography | Steven Black is a polymath and a futurist – with a practical focus on how the world can be changed if we start using the scientific approach and methods for redesigning (rediscovering) our social systems & all other systems as well. This gives him an optimistic, but at the same time, a very realistic view of the future for the world and humankind. Steven’s aim is to help redirect the focus of humanity to the underlying causes for our multiple dilemmas – and in doing so create a more fulfilling existence for all life on the planet, and take the human species to a new kind of future. |

Best known for | Explaining what the future could be like if we applied science to our social system. We have already done the research, but no one has put all the pieces together… until now that is. We will be releasing our work later this month (need-fulfillment communities) for the world (scientific community) to challenge and improve. |
Occupation | Futurist and Entrepreneur |
Story Ideas and Burning Questions | I have written a variety of short sci-fi stories about a cooperative future where money is not even mentioned in history books and everyone has access to everything. People work on what they are interested in and passionate about because it is how they want to spend their time, not because their very survival depends on a paycheck. When the profit incentive has been removed, the world becomes sustainable, products suddenly work better and last longer, automation is seen as a good thing because it means humans have more times to spend being social or creating/improving solutions that matter to them. The future can be so wonderful if we only learn to think critically about the world we have all been conditioned to live in. Today is a dystopia, tomorrow can be about us opening our eyes and realizing that it will end without our continued consent and participation. |
