Samuel Paul Douglas

Biography

PhD researcher (thesis recently submitted!) in philosophy of language at the University of Newcastle (Australia). Hopelessly enamoured with science fiction books, especially golden-age SF. I have worked as tutor/TA in courses related to ethical issues in journalism, PR, advertising, documentary film-making, social sciences research as well as introductory philosophy.

Story Ideas and Burning Questions

Can we negotiate the balance between stagnation and chaotic dynamism? Is humanity doomed to mediocrity? Would it be a bad thing if we were? Is being human all it’s cracked up to be?

I would also like to put some time into exploring what SF can tell us about philosophy, and vice versa.
