So far I have not seen much on the business side of writing here on Hieroglyph.

It particular, I’m interested in learning more about the publishing industry, both paper and electronic, and learning more about contacting agents, understanding contracts, and all the mechanics of getting works published.

Some of the greatest ideas in science fiction have come from people who were also working scientists, and I believe many of the interesting questions that Heiroglyph would like to explore will come from similar people. Arthur C Clarke comes to mind quickly, as his careful intertwining of technology and plot inspire me in my own work.

If I have missed a discussion on the site please point me there, but if not then let’s talk about the business of writing.

Hi Javid,

Have you looked into the resources guide created by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America? Their site has a pretty robust information center for new writers with multiple posts about many of the topics you mention above.
